Shira Jackson
Trustee

Shira is an educator at United Synagogue Living. Shira graduated from UCL with a degree in Physics with Medical Physics. As well as having been a secondary school science teacher, Shira has been involved in informal Jewish education for both adults and teens for a number of years. She is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Educational Leadership programme and the Chief Rabbi’s Ma’ayan programme. Shira is passionate about empowering women to access personal development opportunities and enabling their voices to be heard.

Aviva Landau
Founding Trustee and Director

Aviva is an experienced Development Consultant, specialising in organisational development and transformation in the charitable and public sectors. A qualified project manager, she holds a Masters in Education and a BA History. Aviva has extensive fundraising experience. She has a successful track record of supporting organisations to diversify and increase their fundraising streams, tell their stories in a creative way and build meaningful relationships with funders. Aviva is a published author, public speaker and keen runner. She is involved in multiple community endeavours, including supporting local schools. Although she was too busy during lockdown to bake sourdough, she has since added this to her repertoire and now gives workshops as a hobby. Her biggest claim to fame, however, is being mother to a growing family.

Danielle Morhaim
Founding Director

Danielle is a qualified psychotherapist. She holds a Masters in Biblical Studies and always seems to be studying more! Danielle is a dance instructor, swimming teacher and qualified lifeguard. A people’s person and mainstay of her local community, Danielle regularly hosts large-scale events and mentors individuals. Her home has an open-door policy and she is well-known in the community for being there in a crisis. Danielle is a trustee of Planet Universe, a community centre offering arts and skills workshops. In her free time she enjoys kick-boxing and weight lifting. Her biggest joy, however, is being a proud Mummy.

Rabbi Schneebalg
Rabbinic and Ethical Guidance

Rabbi Schneebalg has led the Edgware community for 35 years. He is an established authority in the field of Kashrut.

Dr Sheryl Kaplan
Medical Advisor

Dr Sheryl Kaplan graduated from the Royal Free and University College Medical School in 2005. After her foundation training, she went on to complete her Specialty Training in General Practice in 2010. Sheryl has since been working as a GP in Burnt Oak and became a partner in her practice in 2014. Sheryl holds diplomas in Geriatric Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. She is the Women’s Health Lead at Edgcare. When Sheryl is not running around after her 2 young sons, she enjoys DIY, gardening and thinking about doing some exercise.

Chana Hughes
Mental Health Lead

Chana is a family and couples therapist with a breadth of experience both within the Jewish and wider community. She leads a NHS perinatal team and maintains a private practice. Chana has extensive background in community work and is a regularly published author.

Elisheva Fisher
Mental Health Lead

Elisheva is a psychotherapist working in private practice and across a range of organisations, including Menucha. She is an educator at SEED, a mother to a growing family and one of those busy people who just gets stuff done! Elisheva brings her wealth of experience, particularly working with women and girls at crucial life transitions, to Mother to Mother.

Abi Curzer
Safeguarding and Social Work

Abi is a trainee clinical psychologist at RHUL working in the Brent and Harrow perinatal mental health team at Northwick Park Hospital. Her previous experience spans social work, counselling and informal education. Herself a mother, she is a spiritual leader in the community, sharing wisdom, advice and a listening ear on a daily basis. Abi’s breadth of experience and expertise in varied aspects of community work and safeguarding serve as a huge asset to Mother to Mother.

Dr Mark Semler
Medical Advisor

Dr Mark Semler graduated from Leeds University Medical School in August 2000. After moving through a number of training specialties and then spending 4 years working in emergency medicine, Mark entered General Practice specialty training in 2007. After achieving MRCGP in 2009, Mark went on to work as a GP Partner in a busy Hertfordshire NHS GP practice. Mark attained a Post Graduate Diploma in cardiology and helped to run the Community Cardiology service for the Royal Free Hospital for 2 years – he also has a strong interest in urgent care services and spent 5 years working at the Royal Free Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre. Mark also secured funding for and then set up the Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund project in Hertfordshire providing extended 7 days GP access to over 100,000 patients – eventually resulting in a trip to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister! In early 2017, Mark decided to put all his energy into developing Private GP services and specifically EdgCARE – Private Community Family Doctors. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his young family, religious study and playing the guitar.
