Supporting Mothers, Strengthening Families
Mother to Mother exists to ensure that every mother in North West London and the surrounding areas feels supported, cared for, and connected during the early weeks and months of motherhood.
What began as a simple desire to help families navigate the challenges of postnatal life has grown into a trusted network of practical, emotional, and community-based support for mothers, babies, fathers, and families.

Our Story
It began with two friends over coffee. They recognised a real need - a gap in the community that simply could not be ignored. Danielle Morhaim, drawing on her own experiences of giving birth in two other countries, vividly remembers her surprise when she moved to London.
"I remember laughing out loud," she recalls, "when I was told to bring nappies to the hospital - and that I'd probably be going home the same day."
There was no kosher food menu, no private room, no nursery option - just the reality of returning home within hours to an active and bustling household.
While she looked around in awe at the women who seemed to be managing so well, when she explored the matter, mothers and fathers confided that the lack of postnatal support did not allow mothers to recover well, and that the family as a unit was being adversely affected.
Danielle and her co-founder, Aviva Landau, could not ignore that having a baby is a big deal.

“I particularly appreciated the Monday lunches, which were healthy and nourishing. It’s so easy to eat junk food when short on time, and these really supported my postnatal healing.”

From Small Beginnings to Community Impact
More needed to be done for mothers and families - even those with loving and involved extended family and community - not only practically, but emotionally as well.
Today, we support hundreds of families, predominantly from the Jewish community, through one-to-one care, nourishing meals, community programmes, and a dedicated volunteer network committed to helping families thrive.

The People Behind Mother to Mother
Every member of our family support team receives specialist training with a strong focus on recognising and responding to postnatal struggle.
Developed in partnership with professionals, the training includes topics such as mother-baby bonding, body image after birth, domestic abuse awareness, trauma-informed care, and how to support mothers in co-creating personalised care plans.
Volunteers are equipped to cultivate long-lasting bonds with the mothers they visit, built on trust, dependability, and the knowledge that someone is in their corner.
They offer thoughtful, practical help - from simply listening, to delivering a nutritious lunch, to simply holding a baby so a mother can enjoy a quiet moment with a cup of tea.

A Formidable Team of Volunteers
Mother to Mother has transformed into a comprehensive organisation, helping women and families thrive through connection, understanding, and a strong sense of community.
